The Australian Training Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the vocational education and training sector.
The Large Employer of the Year Award recognises large businesses and enterprises with 100 or more full-time equivalent employees that have achieved excellence in the provision of nationally recognised training to their employees.
Nationally recognised training refers to training that is based on a national training package or accredited course which results in a person receiving a formal qualification or Statement of Attainment issued by a
Registered Training Organisation. This includes Australian Apprenticeships.
M.C. Herd Operations Manager, Angelo Lauricella said that “Our VET programs has been part of the business for over 20 years embracing diversity and cultural acceptance. In 2020 we took a decision to grow and recognise the skill base of our staff.”
“We have opened up career pathways so staff could develop and stay and grow with the Company.” Mr Lauricella said.
The Awards are held annually in November in a different state or territory. The 2022 Awards will be held in Adelaide, South Australia, on Friday 18 November 2022.
“We are very excited to have been shortlisted as Large Employer of the Year for the National Awards. This really does recognise the efforts of our staff to be given opportunities to grow in the meat industry and learn valuable skills.” Mr Lauricella said.
We wish M.C. Herd the best of luck with their nomination as Large Employer of the Year.
