Beef judge Jeff Walker said the Nagle College entry was one of the best carcases he had ever seen in his long career of judging.

The Limousin-Angus carcase scored 89.1 points out of 100, weighed 456.5kg lwt, and measured 7mm in P8 fat and 6mm in rib fat.

The entry also placed third in the on-hoof competition earlier in the week. The on-hoof competition was won by RDM Crouch Partnership, Highton, with a Limousin-Angus Friesian entry.

In the lamb section, Nigel Greenaway, Beazleys Bridge, again was named grand champion carcase of the show with his White Dorpers. He also took out grand champion best pen of three lambs.
