About M.C. Herd
M.C. Herd is a multi-species meat processing facility. The plant processes high quality lamb, mutton, veal and beef for both the domestic and export markets. With the local consumer market at its doorstep, easy access to Melbourne ports and prime livestock grazing country at its hinterland, M.C. Herd’s location in Geelong has been ideal.
Our highly skilled and dedicated team operate production and livestock sourcing with precision to ensure that we only produce the highest quality beef, lamb and mutton products for our customers every time.
We produce a wide range of products that can cater for every red meat need. The product is loaded and managed by our dedicated transport and logistics team.
With an onsite chilling, blasting and freezing operation, at M.C. Herd we are able to store over 1,000 tonne of product, have a state of the art and safe picking and loading distribution facility ready for domestic distribution, container shipping or air freight exports.
VEAL / MUTTON
All products are handpicked by our experienced sales team. We deliver 5 days a week to Geelong and surf coast, all of the Greater Melbourne area, western districts, Bellarine and Mornington Peninsula. We can also deliver interstate through our distribution network.

M.C. Herd can offer a number of products for the export markets in cluding beef carcase, beef offal, chilled and frozen lamb carcase, mutton 6 way cut, ovine offal, veal 6 way cut and an extensive range of boxed lamb and mutton products.M.C.Herd is 100% halal and can offer certification when required.
Our local processing and chilling and freezing facilities located in Geelong has been ideal for us with easy access to local ports and Melbourne’s International Airport. As we stand by our products, we are committed to produce only high quality and are responsive to our export customers to ensure that we meet their ongoing needs.
M.C. Herd has recently introduced a major expansion to its manufacturing site. The multi-million dollar expansion to its operations has seen the introduction of a first class small stock boning room allowing us to further meet customer demands in many facets of various lamb, veal and mutton cuts in both the domestic and export markets.
The new small stock boning room is able to produce a varied range of all product types which is sourced from the most Southern points of Australia including Tasmania, Otway, Western District and Bellarine Peninsula.
Quality Assurance is a high priority for our business. We are proud to implement and enforce a robust quality assurance program to ensure that we produce only high quality products. At M.C. Herd we have certified personnel; AAO’s to ensure that the standards and principles as part of our quality assurance program are maintained throughout our production process..
We ensure through both internal and independent auditors that we monitor and review our quality assurance program (Approved Arrangement). This includes regular audits from statutory bodies such as the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, AusMeat, Islamic Coordinating Council of Victoria, customers and overseas markets.
